Over 200 welders and pipefitters from Poland are currently employed by Central European Staffing on the Laggan-Tormore Project in the Shetland Islands, with more for mobilisation in the upcoming weeks.

The welders and pipefitters were recruited and tested in practical tests conducted by Central European Staffing and the Client in Warsaw, Poland. Each welder performed tests consisting of two carbon steel and two stainless steel pipes (141 TIG welding process, 6G position).

The operatives work a rota system. Due to limited accommodation resources in Shetlands, the employees live in accommodation facilities located on barges around the Island and periodically return to their homes in Poland for a field break.
